What started as a Railway Diner is now modern, comfortable accommodation conveniently situated to access the Around the Mountains Cycle Trail and the region’s top fishing spots.
The Mossburn branch line was pulled up and sold for scrap in 1987, and the diner closed shortly afterwards.
Situated directly opposite The Mossburn Railway Hotel, the building has served many purposes since then – from News Agents to BNZ Agency, Dalgety Loan and later Wrightsons NMA.
It housed a farrier and an engineer but in recent years it was pretty much derelict. Renovations were completed in July, the gardens are planted and Lou Dean’s Diner now starts it new phase as Wheels & Reels Accommodation.
